Tony Tutch
Like many Northampton lads of his generation, Tony began his working life with an apprenticeship at Timken, before moving into the print industry. Print became a significant part of his career, from lithography and screen printing running his own successful business for many years.
During the 1970s, Tony and fellow creatives, including photographer Barry Roberts, produced a distinctive series of limited-edition screen prints. Sold at the time, some original editions remain available today — an evocative snapshot of the places, design and printmaking of the period.
Creativity has continued throughout Tony’s life, alongside another great passion: music.
Today his artwork takes inspiration from the Art Deco era, particularly Clarice Cliff, as well as the familiar landmarks and character of his local surroundings.
His latest work ranges from illustrations and cards to an altogether more unusual source of inspiration — his much-loved collection of vintage toast racks.
Printmaker, artist, musician, singer and collector, Tony has never really stopped making things.
